The minutes of the 10 August 2018 meeting were confirmed out of session and have been published on the HSCG webpage.

A demonstration of the secure online system currently under development was presented. When finalised, the system will provide an online platform for applications for home schooling registration. Members provided positive feedback with some formatting suggestions. The system will be optional.
Action arising: NESA to seek further feedback as the development continues.
AP handbook
Members discussed the AP Handbook in relation to the purpose of the Handbook and possible refinements.
Action arising: Members to provide feedback on the AP Handbook relative to its purpose to ensure consistency and to avoid duplication with other NESA documents. To be discussed at the next meeting.
Support materials as exemplars
Members were informed that additional exemplars are being reviewed for publication on the website.
Action arising: Project ongoing. Update to be provided at the next meeting.
HSCG emailsIt was reported that the HSCG email addresses allocated to members are no longer active. Action arising: NESA to follow up. When rectified an email will be sent to all members with instructions for access. Part-time schoolingMembers noted that the issue of part-time school enrolment remains uncertain. Action arising: NESA to seek position from the Department of Education out-of-session. AP recruitmentDiscussion about parent representation on recruitment processes was discussed. Issues relating to conflict of interest and confidentiality were discussed. Action arising: HSCG to be briefed on practices in other jurisdictions following Senior Inspector’s attendance at national home schooling regulators’ conference. Legislative changesNESA agreed to brief the Minister on any legislative changes endorsed by the Home Schooling Consultative Group. |
