The minutes of the 12 December 2018 meeting were confirmed out of session and have been published on the HSCG webpage.

Results of the 2018 HSCG Self-Assessment Questionnaire were collated and provided to members.
Action arising: Nil.
The 2018 Home Schooling Data reports relating to 2018 were provided to members and discussed. The reports are now published on the NESA website. Members expressed an interest in the number of applications for initial registration in Year 7.
Action arising: NESA officers to inquire if Year 7 initial registration data is available.
The HSCG discussed the following:
5.1 Publication of updated AP handbook
A ‘tracked changes’ version of the updated AP Handbook will be published on the NESA website.
Action arising: NESA to publish the updated version with tracked changes.
5.2 Review of guidelines
Members were advised that the planned evaluation of the Guidelines for Home Schooling Registration in NSW would be commenced later in 2019 in consultation with the HSCG. Processes and procedures for the review will be discussed at the next meeting.
Action arising: A draft survey will be provided to members for comment prior to the next HSCG meeting.
6.1 Email addresses for home schooled students
The possibility of children registered for home schooling accessing a NESA issued edu.au email address was raised. Members were advised that this was not possible due to requirements dictated by the domain name regulator and resource constraints. NESA would support efforts by parent groups in seeking education discounts from software suppliers for registered home schoolers.

6.2 Publication of additional sample plans
Members were informed that new samples will shortly be published on the NESA website.

6.3 National home education forum
Members were informed that NESA will be hosting the 2019 National Home Education Forum for regulators from each state and territory, to be held in Sydney in August.
