The Proficient Teacher benchmark research established a baseline level for what it means for a teacher to effectively demonstrate Proficient Teacher practice according to the Standards.
Research involving submitted documentary evidence of 20 teachers, and the participation of 122 stakeholders, identified the key characteristics that effectively demonstrate practice at the Proficient Teacher level of the Standards.
