Supervising the HSC
HSC supervisors and Presiding Officers manage HSC exams. Learn what's involved in supervising, what the requirements are and how to express your interest.
About HSC exam supervision
HSC exams are supervised by HSC Supervisors and Presiding Officers. Both roles work with principals and schools to deliver the HSC exams to Year 12 students.
NESA does not directly recruit supervisors and Presiding Officers. This is managed by the school's principal.
You can nominate yourself for a HSC Supervisor or Presiding Officer role by doing one of the following:
- contacting your local school directly
- submitting an expression of interest online.

- supervising students in exam rooms
- collecting completed exam papers
- packing up after exams.

Supervisors must:
