Water Monitoring Buoy Deployment

Navigation Warning
Vessel operators are advised that Water NSW are deploying water monitoring buoys on the navigable waters of the Darling River at Menindee, on Wednesday, 12 June 2024 that will remain in place until further notice. The buoys will be located on the Darling River at Menindee in the following locations:
- Approximately 9km upstream of the Menindee town boat ramp (approximately Latitude -32.3717 Longitude 142.4726); and
- Approximately 3km downstream of the Menindee town boat ramp (approximately Latitude -32.3954 Longitude 142.3913).
The buoys are yellow in colour and will be lit at times of restricted visibility, displaying a yellow flashing light.
Vessel operators are advised to exercise caution when navigating in the vicinity of the buoys, especially during times of restricted visibility.
Vessel operators are also reminded that unauthorised use or interference with these buoys, such as securing a vessel, is an offence and penalties apply.
