Navigation Warning
Vessel operators are advised that Water NSW have deployed a water temperature monitoring buoy on the navigable waters of Blowering Reservoir, approximately 500 metres downstream (located at approx. 35°560595 and 148°300558) of the Jounama Dam wall from Monday 3 April 2023 until further notice.
The buoy will be yellow in colour and will be lit at times of restricted visibility, displaying a yellow light with characteristics of a single flash every two seconds.
Vessel Operators are advised that the buoy is located within an existing vessel and persons prohibition zone which extends from the Jounama Dam Wall downstream into the Blowering Reservoir for approximately one (1) kilometre. The extent of this vessel and persons prohibition zone is marked by signage on the shorelines.
In line with the existing vessel and persons prohibition zone, vessel operators should not be navigating in the vicinity of the buoy, however, operators are reminded that unauthorised use or interference with the buoy, such as securing a vessel, is an offence and penalties apply.
