Triathlon and Aquathon Swim Legs

When

• 2024 - 7:00am to 8:00am – Sundays: 
  22 September, 29 September, 13 October, 20 October, 27 October, 3 November, 10 November, 17 November, 8 December, 15 December, 22 December.
• 2025 - 5:30pm to 6:30pm – Fridays: 
  17 January, 24 January. 
• 2025 – 7:00am to 8:00am – Sundays: 
  16 February, 23 February, 16 March, 13 April, 20 April, 29 June, 6 July, 27 July, 3 August, 31 August, 7 September. 

Special event

Vessel operators are advised that a special event pursuant to section 12(2) of the Marine Safety Act 1998 is to be held in the South Harbour Canal, on the Hastings River at Port Macquarie (as per the map) between 7:00am and 8:00am on Sundays: 22 September, 29 September, 13 October, 20 October, 27 October, 3 November, 10 November, 17 November, 8 December, 15 December and 22 December 2024; and 16 February, 23 February, 16 March, 13 April, 20 April, 29 June, 6 July, 27 July, 3 August, 31 August, 7 September 2025; and between 5:30pm and 6:30pm on Friday 17 January 2025 and Friday 24 January 2025. The event is the swim leg of a triathlon or aquathon.

Exclusion zone  

 Due to the potential to affect the safety of navigation, Transport for NSW has declared an exclusion zone will be established on the navigable waters of the Hastings River at Port Macquarie in the South Harbour Canal (as per the map) between the above times on the above dates. 

Directions

Transport for NSW advises: 

1. Persons within the vicinity of the Zone must comply with any directions given by a Boating Safety Officer or a Police Officer in relation to the Special Event or to marine safety.  Failure to comply with any such direction is an offence (Marine Safety Act 1998, s.15A - Maximum Penalty $3,300.00). 
2. No unauthorised vessels are permitted to enter the Zone during this event, and to do so may be an offence (Marine Safety Act 1998, s.12(5) — Maximum Penalty $1,100.00)
