Navigation warning
Due to substantial rain and flooding of coastal catchments on the Mid North Coast, there are a significant number of navigation hazards in these waterways including submerged and floating debris. These hazards combined with dangerous waves and currents means dangerous conditions for boating.
Navigation aids used to guide vessel operators around hazards may have been washed away and/or be out of place and some navigational channels may have changed.
Vessel operators are strongly encouraged to avoid using the waterways until the current conditions and flooding subsides. In circumstances where this advice cannot be adhered to, operators are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution when navigating in waterways including keeping a proper lookout, travelling at a safe speed, monitoring depth of water, and avoiding strong flows.
This navigation warning remains in place until further notice.
