Heavy Vehicle Competency Based Assessment (HVCBA) fees
The HVCBA is the primary way to get your heavy vehicle licence. The assessment is done through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). These organisations set their own fees for the training aspect of the course.
The fee you need to pay to Transport for NSW is the participation and log book fee. Remember, this not the full fee for the assessment.
Item | Amount |
---|---|
HVCBA Scheme participation fee | $32 |
HVCBA replacement Log Book | $10 |
To find out the full cost of the HVCBA, contact your RTO or see Registered Training Organisations for a list of providers.
Heavy vehicle driving test fee
The fee for the heavy vehicle driving test is $64.
You need to pay this fee to Service NSW when booking your test.
Heavy Vehicle Knowledge Test
The Heavy Vehicle Knowledge Test is the test you pass before you can apply for your HVCBA.
There are two different Heavy Vehicle Knowledge Tests. You only need to take the test for the class of licence you're applying for.
The two tests are:
- Rigid (LR, MR and HR)
- Combination (HC and MC)
Each test costs $52. If you fail the test you will need to pay $52 to take the test again.
