Surface Development Guideline 7
This page explains the requirements for constructing development on a property in a Mine Subsidence District that has been assigned Guideline 7.
Guideline 7 applies to properties at risk of subsidence with unknown or severe parameters, or properties affected by shallow mine entries or shafts. Special consideration of the likely subsidence issues is required prior to approval of development.
Allowable residential construction
Guideline 7 developments must be assessed under Subsidence Advisory’s Merit Assessment Policy to consider suitability of the development given the risk of subsidence damage.
Please refer to Subsidence Advisory’s website for further information on requirements.
Who can assess whether development complies with Guideline 7
Applications for proposed development with this Guideline must be assessed by Subsidence Advisory due to the complexity involved in the assessment of development in these areas.
