Privacy statement from NSW Premier's Department
This privacy statement sets out the NSW Premier’s Department’s practices relating to handling of your personal information (including health information).

What personal information will you collect?
We will only collect personal information from you, or a person authorised by you if it is required for a lawful purpose that is directly related to our functions and activities as a NSW Government agency.
We will only collect the minimum amount of personal information that is required for those purposes.
When we collect your personal information, we will let you know why we are collecting the information, what we will use it for and who we may disclose that information to.
How will you use my personal information?
We will use the information for the purpose for which it has been collected and may use it for directly related purposes. We will not use your information for any other purpose unless you have given your consent, or we are authorised or required by law to do so.
If you email us directly or provide your email address through this website, we will only keep and use your e-mail address for the purpose for which you have provided it.
If you subscribe to an electronic mailing list, we will only send you information relevant to the purpose or project for which you have provided it.
If you provide feedback about this website or our services, your address will only be used for the purpose of providing you with a reply.
You will not be subscribed to any mailing list without your consent. All newsletters we send will give you the option to unsubscribe.
If you make a formal request to access information held by us under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (the GIPA Act) we will use your personal information for the purposes of dealing with your request.
Will my personal information be disclosed to anyone else?
When we engage someone to collect, store or use personal information on our behalf, we will require them to comply with the privacy legislation and our privacy policies.
We receive offsite security screening and mail sorting services from Decipha Pty Ltd. All incoming physical correspondence addressed to the Premier or us will be opened and scanned into our internal systems by Decipha Pty Ltd. Decipha Pty Ltd must keep all personal information accessed as part of its provision of services confidential.
We may forward your correspondence to a Minister or another NSW Government agency if it is necessary to help us deal with responding to you, or if your correspondence needs to be referred to them to provide a response to you.
The personal information that you provide to us may be disclosed to The Cabinet Office so that they can provide appropriate support services to us.
If you make a formal request to access information held by us under the GIPA Act, your personal information will be disclosed to the members of staff in The Cabinet Office that have been authorised to deal with applications under the GIPA Act on our behalf.
Do I have to provide personal information to you?
You do not have to provide any personal information to us via this website. However, in some instances we may not be able to deal with a request made by you, or reply to correspondence, if you do not provide us with contact details.
How will you store my information?
We will store your personal information securely and we will delete it when it is no longer required.
What other information does this website collect?
To help us improve this website and provide better services to our users, visits to this website may be tracked, including by using persistent cookies, to record information that may include:
- your service address
- your top-level domain name (for example .com, .gov or .au)
- the IP address of your server
- the date and time of your visit to the site.
We only have access to anonymised and de-identified data, and we cannot identify you from that information.
