Who we are
The NSW Reconstruction Authority (RA) was established to proactively reduce the impact of future disasters across NSW and to help communities recover from them faster.
When disasters occur, our staff work closely with emergency services and community leaders to understand what local communities need to recover. Once the immediate threat has eased, we lead recovery efforts in collaboration with community leaders and other recovery partners.

Featured initiatives

We are working to centralise the administration, oversight and assessment of EPAR, including funding for EW and IRW from 1 October 2025.

The Resilient Lands Program is unlocking much needed land to provide safer places for people to live across the Northern Rivers.

The Resilient Homes Program is providing assistance to homeowners to improve the resilience of eligible residential properties already affected by flooding.

The NSW Reconstruction Authority has developed Australia’s first State Disaster Mitigation Plan (SDMP).

The NSW Reconstruction Authority (RA) is now in the process of finalising guidelines that outline how disaster adaptation planning will be undertaken in NSW.
