Meeting summary
Members of the Central West Community Leaders Forum (CLF) met on 25 October 2024 to support progress on the delivery of the key components of the $100m Central West Recovery and Resilience Package, including the Resilient Homes Program – Central West.
Regional Transport Resilience Fund
Transport for NSW advised the CLF that successful projects have been recommended to the Minister for Transport for approval.
Community Assets Program
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development advised that the 21 successful projects are in the contracting or negotiation of deliverables stage.
- Cabonne Council: 10 projects totalling $8,196,415
- Forbes Shire Council: 3 projects totalling $8,894,163
- Lachlan Shire Council: 4 projects totalling $3,342,795
- Parkes Shire Council: 4 projects totalling $3,316,627
Legal Assistance Relief and Recovery Package
Legal Aid NSW advised that to date 400 flood related legal services have been provided to 195 individuals across the Central West. The Legal Aid team will continue the extensive casework arising from this service provision. They will continue to collaborate with the NSW Reconstruction Authority (RA) and community organisations to facilitate referrals, establish referral pathways and attend community events.
Resilient Homes Program Central West
RA informed the CLF that the Resilient Homes Program would be open to accept applications from flood impacted community members from 10am Monday 28 October 2024.
Community members are welcome to drop in or make a booking in the advertised Community Pop-up locations or the RA Eugowra office that will be staffed Monday to Friday for advice and assistance with completing their applications.
Next steps
- Implementation of the Resilient Homes Program – Central West.
- Customer engagement with eligible homeowners, supporting them with their application process as needed.
- Briefings and engagement with the building and construction sector and with local solicitors.
- Progression of funding deed execution for all successful Community Asset Program projects.
