The NSW Reconstruction Authority manages $151m in grant programs that support communities in building disaster resilience and reducing the risk to future hazards.
Protecting Our Communities (Disaster Resilience) Program
The Protecting Our Communities (Disaster Resilience) Program has been established by the Australian Government to improve disaster resilience and preparedness in communities at a local level. These were Federal Election 2022 Commitments for NSW.
Spontaneous Volunteers Support Program (SVSP)
The Spontaneous Volunteers Support Program (SVSP) has been established in response to the 2022 NSW Flood Inquiry’s recommendation that the NSW Government create a program to support better coordination of community efforts to save life and property during a disaster.
Disaster Ready Fund
The Australian Government has established the Disaster Ready Fund (DRF), to help communities protect themselves against the impacts of natural hazards across Australia.
Disaster Risk Reduction Fund
The Disaster Risk Reduction Fund (DRRF) will finance targeted work across the state of NSW to support the prevention, mitigation and management of disaster risk.
Minister for Emergency Services Discretionary Fund
The Minister for Emergency Services Discretionary Fund provides grants to projects or programs that support the work of emergency services, other emergency management organisations, and those supporting community resilience to natural disasters.
Flood Rescue Capability Enhancement Program
