People seeking urgent mental health care at Nepean Hospital can get help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at this dedicated triage and assessment centre, rather than going to the hospital's emergency department.
About us
The Mental Health Triage and Assessment Centre (TAC) is a modern, purpose-built area dedicated to compassionate and responsive care for those who need it, whenever they need it.
The centre is staffed by highly skilled nurses, doctors and other health professionals who can assess patients for their needs, work with them on a health plan and, if required, admit them for in-hospital care.
We also have peer workers on site to help guide and support patients. Our peer workers all have personal experiences of mental health care.
Referral information
Patients can come to the centre without an appointment or referral, or be brought here by family, friends, an ambulance or other emergency services.
You can also call the 24-hour Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511.
