Cardiology outpatient clinic patients can access specialist appointments, tests and procedures without being admitted to hospital.
About us
We see patients who need to talk with a specialist about a heart (cardiac) issue, get a stress test, follow-up from cardiac testing or a previous cardiac episode.
Patients can receive a diagnosis, procedure, assessment, treatment or education at the clinic without being admitted or needing to stay overnight in the hospital.
Referral information
Patients will need a referral from their doctor or GP (general practitioner) including details of their patient history, current medications and symptoms, addressed to one of our specialists.
All new patients will need a completed referral form to be faxed to the clinic before an appointment can be made. GPs and referring clinicians can access the form in the Nepean Blue Mountains LHD outpatient referral catalogue.

Information
An ECG is a test that records the electrical activity of the heart, such as the rate and regularity of the heartbeat.
We see patients 16 years and over (or younger if requested a paediatrician) who have a suspected cardiac issue, or where an ECG is a requirement before an operation.

This clinic is run weekly by a nurse or cardiac technician.

No appointment is needed however all new patients will need a referral from a GP (general practitioner) or specialist.

Information
An exercise stress test measures your heart under physical exertion or stress.
A stress echocardiography is a test that uses ultrasound to monitor how your heart muscle is working under under physical exertion or stress.

Information
A 24 hour BP and holter monitor are small wearable devices that record your blood pressure and heart rhythm (ECG). You usually wear a holter monitor for approximately 24 hours. It is used to measure the effectiveness of cardiac medication or detect any irregularity in your heart rhythm.
