Now in its 26th year, the awards acknowledge the personalised, sustainable, and digitally enabled programs that contribute to the wellbeing of patients and the community.
NBMLHD has 2 nominations among 42 finalists from across the state.
The Virtual Health Interpreters Service is competing for the Excellence in Multicultural Healthcare Award for their work introducing video interpreting to Nepean Hospital’s Women and Children’s Outpatients to improve patient care and support better health outcomes for multicultural communities.
Clinical Lead for the Nepean Hospital Redevelopment, Dr Nhi Nguyen has also been nominated for the NSW Health Staff Member of the Year Award. Nhi works tirelessly to help clinicians provide the highest quality care, and supports clinical engagement and advocacy in system management and change.
NSW Health Secretary Susan Pearce AM said it is really exciting to celebrate the people and teams who are enriching health in millions of ways every day.
"These awards are a chance to recognise our incredible healthcare staff and volunteers, across the public health system," Ms Pearce said.
"I congratulate the finalists, but I also want to acknowledge the work being done across the system every day, by our teams of doctors, nurses, midwives, allied health and support staff."
NSW Health received 186 nominations across the 12 award categories.
NBMLHD Chief Executive, Lee Gregory said they are proud of the achievements of those nominated.
“At NBMLHD we are always striving to achieve better health outcomes for our patients and the wider community. It’s really rewarding to see the passion and commitment of our teams recognised for innovating service delivery and contributing to the health transformation of NSW,” Lee said.
The finalists and winners will be celebrated at the NSW Health Awards ceremony, which will be held on Thursday 24 October at the International Convention Centre in Sydney. It will also be livestreamed from 6pm.
