If you have symptoms you can test at home using a rapid antigen test (RAT). For most people, a RAT is the most convenient and appropriate test for COVID-19. Free RATs are available from Service NSW or a participating local community centre for priority groups.
PCR tests are recommended for people who are at higher risk of severe illness as they help enable early access to treatments such as antiviral medicines.
The Lithgow Hospital and Blue Mountains Hospital clinics are open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9am to 12pm with the Blue Mountains clinic also open 1 to 4pm. The clinics will be closed on public holidays across the festive season. To check a COVID-19 testing clinic operating hours please visit www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/testing-managing/clinics.
Voluntarily registering a positive RAT result helps you access health support and antiviral medicines if you are eligible.
If you test positive or have any cold and flu symptoms, stay home. If you do have to leave your house, wear a mask and avoid going to any high-risk settings, including hospitals, and aged and disability care facilities.
