NSW Homelessness Strategy 2025-2035

Vision

The NSW Homelessness Strategy 2025 -2035 (the Strategy) vision is to make NSW a place where homelessness is rare, brief and not repeated because people have a safe home and the support to keep it.

Strategy and Action plans

We drafted the Strategy by building on what we all know and directly engaging with people over the past 6 months to explore issues and test ideas. Flexible whole-of-government action plans will sit under the Strategy and set out how we will work to achieve this vision. The first Action Plan for 2025-2027 will be accompanied by standalone Action Plans for children and young people, and Aboriginal people.

Consultation and engagement

Public consultation on the draft Strategy officially closed on 14 February 2025. Submissions were received from a broad range of stakeholders including peaks, state and local government, advisory and governance agencies, community organisations, service providers and individuals. We appreciate the time and care taken to provide detailed, insightful responses and we will be publishing a summary of the key themes and ideas.

Timeline

We will consider all feedback carefully and continue to use existing forums to talk directly with our stakeholders and our lived experience advisory groups.

The final Strategy and Action Plans will be released in 2025.
