It helps them to find and keep a place to live in the private rental market.
Eligibility
People who have:
- a physical or mental illness
- drug or alcohol problems
- a physical or intellectual disability, or
- other complex needs
How does the Private Rental Brokerage Service work?
Rent Choice clients can access the service through:
- a specialist worker from Homes NSW
- a Social Housing Management Transfers community housing provider (SHMT CHP).
These specialists can:
- work with clients and support providers
- help them develop a plan for the client to live independently in a private rental
- speak with agents or landlords to help find suitable private rental housing
- deal with any problems with previous tenancies
- help with anything that might negatively affect a client’s tenancy
- work with other agencies to provide coordinated services.
