Wentworth Health Service is a small rural hospital and health service that provides nurse-led first aid services, and post-acute inpatient care.
About the facility
Wentworth Health Service is a small rural hospital and health service that provides 24-hour nurse-led first aid services and inpatient facilities. We also offer virtual care appointments with specialists when needed.
The 20 inpatient beds consist of 12 for sub/post-acute care and 8 for transitional care.
Wentworth Health Service provides recovery and rehabilitation care for people who have been in another hospital, until they can safely return home.
A Transitional Aged Care Program provides nursing care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and medical assistance to help older people regain their independence after time in hospital, in a home like environment.
Overnight care is available following day surgery, for people without a support person who can be with them at home.

Planned facility upgrade
The Wentworth Health Service Redevelopment project is now in the design stage.
This follows the NSW Government’s June 2021 announcement of $30 million to redevelop the 80-year-old hospital and completion of the planning process. Health Infrastructure continues to work with Far West Local Health District and local stakeholders to progress the project.
The new facility will improve inpatient and community health services for the people of Wentworth and surrounding communities.
