Regional Development and Delivery branches
Regional Development and Delivery works within the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.
We are made up of several branches that lead and implement programs to strengthen regional NSW communities through critical infrastructure initiatives, environmental services, project delivery expertise and targeted investment attraction strategies.
Established in 1856, NSW Public Works is the state’s regional infrastructure advisory group and whole-of-government construction procurement system custodian. They bring design, engineering, and procurement expertise to complex projects.

The Regional Economic Development team fosters the growth of vibrant and sustainable regional NSW communities through improved economic outcomes. Regional Economic Development works with communities and businesses to identify opportunities for sustainable economic development, new industry activation, diversification and business attraction.
Through the activation of economic potential, the team delivers a range of initiatives to help businesses establish, expand and prosper thereby creating high value jobs. The team seeks to improve social and economic outcomes for Aboriginal communities across regional NSW through the Regional Aboriginal Partnerships Program.

Regional Growth NSW Development Corporation is delivering on the NSW Government’s Special Activation Precinct program. Partnering with government, business, industry, and education providers to create world-class, sustainable, economic zones at the forefront of innovation.
The world-class precincts encourage economic growth and investment in the regions through government-funded infrastructure, streamlined planning and approvals and business support services. All of which help lower the cost and time of setting up in NSW.
This coincides with the Regional Job Precincts, which provide support to local councils to drive growth and investment opportunities to create new jobs in regional NSW.
Snowy Hydro Legacy Fund and the Department of Planning help fund and plan these precincts.
The Regional Programs and Partnerships team lead the design, delivery and initiation of a wide range of programs that benefit regional communities. This includes targeted programs for groups such as cross border communities, youth and those focused on the resilience and recovery of regional communities. See Regional programs and grants.
Regional Programs and Partnerships team takes an informed, innovative and solutions-focused approach to grants administration and governance when delivering tailored grant funding programs to communities and businesses across regional NSW.

The Strategic Projects and Services Delivery Group supports the Office of the Deputy Secretary, providing oversight on strategic projects and delivery of new infrastructure for rural and regional NSW communities.
Responsible for the Regional Digital Connectivity Program, the team works collaboratively with other areas of the Regional Delivery and Development Group to deliver projects aligned with the government’s priorities.
