Regular contact with the media is an important aspect of our role as a fit-for-purpose regulator achieving social and economic benefits for the people of NSW.
We adopt a rigorous and principles-based public comment policy. The public comment policy explains when we may comment publicly on our activities, the process for media enquiries, and media releases.
This policy aims to:
- instil confidence in how industry is regulated
- support transparency
- provide guidance about irresponsible practices to protect industry integrity and community well-being
- engage and educate industry and the public about best practice in harm minimisation
- promote a vibrant and sustainable industry that meets its regulatory obligations.
