As a panel member, you will have the opportunity to:
- share your experiences and perspectives on topics relating to the construction sector
- participate in research activities like surveys, interviews, and focus groups
- help shape the future of home building and construction projects across NSW
- receive a gift voucher for participating in eligible research activities
Who can join?
To be eligible you must:
- be at least 16 years old
- be employed (as an owner, employee or subcontractor) OR studying or training in the NSW building, construction, or related industries, including but not limited to:
- special trades (e.g., plumbers, electricians, carpenters)
- design and architecture
- engineering (e.g., construction, civil), and
- building certification.
What's involved?
Once you sign up, you will receive emails inviting you to participate in activities like:
- completing a short online survey
participating in an interview or focus group
testing out new products or services
You can choose which activities to take part in, and you’re free to leave the panel at any time.
Your privacy is our priority, and all responses are confidential.
How to join
Complete the short 5-minute sign-up form. You'll be asked a few questions about your background, role, experience. This will help us determine the right research activities to send you.
You can always say no to an invite and leave the panel at any time.

Becoming a member
To join the panel, you must be:
- at least 16 years old
- employed, studying or training in the NSW construction industry
Yes, current NSW Government employees can join the panel.
If you need to update any of your membership details, please complete the update my details form.
It’s important that you keep your membership details up to date so we can invite you to the right research activities.
If you change your email address and do not let us know, we will not be able to contact you.
To keep your panel membership active, you must complete at least one research activity within 12 months of being invited or joining the panel.
If your membership becomes inactive, we’ll email you to confirm if you want to remain a member. If we don’t hear back within the given timeframe, we’ll unsubscribe you from the panel.
We also ask all members to act respectfully and provide accurate information. You can read more about member expectations in the Terms and Conditions.
Yes, you can leave the panel at any time by using the ‘unsubscribe’ link in the emails you receive from us. If you experience any issues, please contact us.
Research activities
The research activities will cover a range of topics that relate to the construction industry in NSW. For example, we might invite you to participate in a research activity where you will be asked to share your views and experiences on one of our services or initiatives.
Yes, you can choose whether to participate in any research activity you’re invited to. Declining an invitation will not impact your chances of being invited to future activities.
To keep your panel membership active, you must complete at least one research activity within 12 months of being invited or joining the panel.
The frequency of invitations will vary by member. We cannot guarantee that you will receive an invitation. Invitations will depend on the research activity we are running and whether you meet the specific selection criteria for that research.
It depends on the research activity. For some research activities that require a larger time commitment (such as attending an interview or a focus group), you will receive a gift voucher for participating. The value of the gift voucher will vary depending on the research activity and time commitment required.
Some research activities will be anonymous and others will not be. We will tell you whether the research activity is anonymous or not when we send you an invitation to participate.
If the research activity is anonymous, this means your identity will remain unknown, and the responses cannot be linked back to you.
