Bradfield City Centre reached key milestones in 2024, with Master Plan approval, construction progress, and the AMRF's first project underway.
Hitting milestone after milestone in 2024
From the NSW Government approving Bradfield City Centre’s Master Plan, to commencing enabling works, undertaking AMRF’s first project, and completing First Building construction – we’ve had a busy year.
Next year you can expect the official opening of First Building, housing Stage 1 of the Advanced Manufacturing Readiness Facility (AMRF).
We will be announcing the construction partners for the Second Building, home to Stage 2 of the AMRF. The AMRF will help to strengthen the manufacturing sector and play an integral role in creating more high-value jobs for the people of Western Sydney. We will also announce a development partner for Superlot 1. This will inform the provision of essential services for the community such as new homes, commercial childcare, hotel, retail, medical spaces and public domain.
In addition, 2025 will see the announcement of our private sector partner to deliver the vital digital infrastructure to service mixed-use development, provide high quality digital services, and create a world-class public domain.
Bradfield Development Authority is committed to building a stronger future for Western Sydney. This momentum demonstrates how the potential of the region is being realised across the Aerotropolis and Bradfield City Centre, building a stronger future for generations to come.
We will continue to connect with the community as we develop Bradfield in 2025, as we create a vibrant, sustainable, inclusive and innovative city for the future.

Bradfield City First Building fly through
Construction of the First Building - housing Stage 1 of the Advanced Manufacturing Readiness Facility (AMRF) - is now complete.
Sustainability is a core principle of the First Building's design.
It incorporates extensive natural materials and features a cooling green roof to mitigate solar thermal heating.
The building has been designed with Country, inspired by the natural waterways and the Cumberland Plains, reflecting a deep connection with the local environment.
One of the building's highlights is the rooftop viewing platform, offering a unique perspective on the ongoing construction of the new city and the nearby Bradfield Metro station.
We are now in the process of commissioning the building and installing advanced manufacturing equipment, with the facility set to open in early 2025.
Thank you to our project partners Hassell Studio, Djinjama, Taylor Australia and NSW Public Works.
A community open day is in planning so we can show you firsthand how First Building will benefit the wider community.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to build a vibrant, sustainable, and innovative community!
Civils making inroads
It was full steam ahead at Bradfield in September with enabling works for roads, services and other amenities supporting future development in the city getting underway.
Sixty Olympic swimming pools' worth of material (over 150 thousand cubic metres) will be cut and filled to deliver Bradfield City Centre's enabling works for roads, services and other amenities.
Enabling works are due for completion in 2025.
Superlot 1 - first land release progressing
BDA is close to appointing a development partner for the first Superlot land release in Bradfield City Centre.
Set across 4.8 hectares, Superlot 1 includes over 200,000m² of gross floor area development potential, with provision for new homes, as well as commercial childcare, hotel, retail, medical spaces and public domain.
This partnership – to be announced in 2025 - will set the benchmark for development in Australia’s newest city.
Pink Up Penrith
On average, 58 people are diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia every day.
McGrath Breast Care Nurses play a vital role in the community ensuring people with breast cancer receive the highest standard of care.
In October, BDA staff 'pinked up' the office to raise funds for more McGrath Breast Care Nurses in Penrith.
It was a fantastic effort, and we couldn't have done it without the support of our community.
A special shoutout to Pink Up Penrith's Gai Hawthorn and McGrath Breast Care Nurse Rebecca McLeod for joining us and sharing more about their vital work.
Together, we're making a real difference!
Out and about in the community
We love getting amongst the community and chatting about all things Bradfield City Centre and the Aerotropolis.
In November, BDA CEO Ken Morrison and other team members joined NSW Government agencies, as well as Penrith and Liverpool councils, at Bringelly Community Hall to provide information and answer your questions about projects in the initial Aerotropolis and Mamre Road precincts.
If you see us out and about at event, please come say ‘hi’ to the team and learn more about the exciting work underway at Bradfield City Centre.
