Social media community guidelines
We keep you updated on Aboriginal Affairs' news, services and opportunities.
These guidelines apply to anyone visiting and interacting with Aboriginal Affairs NSW’s social media platforms, which are listed below:
We work hard at Aboriginal Affairs NSW to maintain a safe space for our online community. While we encourage feedback, opinions and courageous conversations, we recognise diverse views within the community, and we ask that all interactions remain respectful and considerate of others.
To help us all engage in meaningful and constructive ways we have developed guidelines to keep our social media platforms safe and productive:
- We have a zero-tolerance policy towards racism, discrimination, abuse or harassment.
- All comments are to be respectful of differing views.
- To create meaningful and valuable discussion, comments should be relevant to the topic under discussion in the post.
- Bullying will not be tolerated.
- Comments that are defamatory will be reported and deleted.
- Hate speech will be reported and hidden.
- As a public service agency, we're apolitical and unable to respond to political commentary.
- Have your say, but do not spam our pages with repeats of the same information.
- Advertising is not allowed.
- Comments that contravene the above guidelines will be hidden or removed, and repeat offenders could be banned.
Our pages are managed by Aboriginal Affairs NSW. We’ll do our best to respond to you within three business days, however we may take longer during busy periods. We appreciate your patience.
Thank you for respecting our guidelines and being part of our community.
