The study investigates changes in understanding of these concepts over time and how these concepts have influenced discourses about Aboriginal peoples.
It also explores how these concepts have been applied in Aboriginal policy debates and frameworks, particularly in NSW.
The study concludes that there is a need to develop a policy-relevant and Aboriginal-led approach to prosperity from the ground up that recognises and invests in the diversity of First Peoples’ economic visions, values and aspirations across NSW.
The study was undertaken in partnership with Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research (CAEPR) at Australian National University.
