Helping our citizens make the most of their senior years
The NSW Government started the Seniors Card program in 1992 to help seniors access deals and initiatives for a more affordable life in retirement. The Senior Savers Card, introduced in 2019, expands discounts to the growing number of NSW seniors who are still working after age 60.
The program connects card holders to participating businesses that offer special discounts and deals. Through the print discount directory and online discount map, card holders can have greater access to their local communities through exclusive benefits.
Today, there are more than 1.9 million card holders across the state. It is a valuable source of business for thousands of astute companies that take part in the program.

Each Australian state and territory have their own Seniors Card program with different reciprocal arrangements for using your NSW Seniors Card.
Businesses in one state will generally recognise cards from another, however, it is best to ask the business if it provides a discount for interstate Seniors Card or Senior Savers Card before you buy.
To find out more about participating businesses and available discounts in other states, see the relevant interstate Seniors Card office.
If you hold a Seniors Card issued by another Australian state or territory and are travelling to NSW, you can search the online discount directory to find the businesses discounts currently available.
Note that not all businesses extend their offers to interstate so ask at the counter before you buy.
If you have a valid Seniors Card issued by an Australian State or Territory Government, you too can enjoy our best transport discounts with an Opal Gold Card.
Note: You must have a state or territory government Seniors Card. Other cards including the National Seniors Card, Queensland Seniors Business Discount Card, Commonwealth Seniors Health Care Card and New Zealand SuperGold Card do not qualify.
For more information, please visit the website.
Seniors Card and Senior Savers Card holders can access discounts from thousands of businesses participating in the New Zealand Super Gold Card. Please note that this does not include transport concessions.
Search the SuperGold online discount directory, or look for stickers that say “SuperGold Cards Welcome” when travelling in New Zealand. Ask the salesperson if they also accept the NSW Seniors Card or Senior Savers Card.
If a business does not offer discounts for Australian seniors, this will be noted on their website under ‘exclusions’.
If you're hold a New Zealand SuperGold card, you can search the online discount directory to find the businesses discounts currently available.
Note that not all businesses extend their offers to NZ seniors so ask at the counter if they accept your card.
