After-hours and crisis support
Find out who to contact for after hours and crisis support relating to a child or young person in your care.
Call 000 if it is a life-threatening situation.
Call the 24-hour Child Protection Helpline on 132 111 (TTY 1800 212 936 for hearing or speech impaired) if:
- you’re concerned for the child or young person’s safety
- you don’t know where they are
- the child or young person has run away (even if you do know where they are)
- the child or young person has been detained by the police
- the child or young person hasn’t returned from a contact visit when expected.
If you are a carer with a non-government agency, you can also call your agency’s after-hours contact number for assistance.
