Smart Places Acceleration Program

The Smart Places Acceleration Program has been supporting the adoption of smart technologies across NSW.

Overview

Between 2020 and 2023, the Smart Places Acceleration Program provided co-contributions for NSW Government agencies to deliver smart initiatives.

Government agencies are delivering these initiatives in partnership with:

  • local councils and place managers
  • industry
  • the innovation and research sectors.

The program funded 28 initiatives and projects to:

  • generate new data
  • grow capability in the public sector
  • generate and communicate data insights
  • deliver new enabling technology and smart infrastructure.

The Smart Places Acceleration Program was funded by the Digital Restart Fund.

This project aims to provide insights on the 24-hour economy strategy for Sydney's nightlife.

This initiative aims to provide local governments with the latest technology and information on inexpensive air quality sensors.

Digital Trust for Places and Routines

This Australian-first trial will inform communities about what smart technologies are in place, and explain how the data captured is used.
