About the Report of State Finances (Total State Sector Accounts)

We publish a Report of State Finances each year for the previous financial year. This report gives a clear overview of how the state performed financially and its financial position.

The NSW Report of State Finances includes:

• A summary of the financial performance and position of the General Government and Total State Sectors for the last financial year.
• The audited Consolidated Financial Statements of the General Government and Total State Sectors for the previous financial year, with detailed notes required by Australian Accounting Standards.
• The Outcomes Report on Government Finances, for the general government sector, public non-financial corporations, public financial corporations, and the non-financial public sector.

This report follows the Uniform Presentation Framework used by all Australian governments and includes the Loan Council Allocation Outcome for NSW.

Monthly statements

Each month, statements are published as required by Section 8 of the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983. This law requires the release of monthly updates showing the original Budget projections and the year-to-date balances for key financial measures in the general government sector.

Statement of uncommitted funds

Under Section 24 of the Parliamentary Budget Officer Act 2010, the Treasury Secretary releases a statement on uncommitted funds when the pre-election half-yearly budget review is published.

This statement shows how much uncommitted money is available in the updated estimates of spending for the General Government Sector during the period covered by the review.
