What’s this about?

Transport for NSW is undertaking an official review of the Roads Act 1993, Part 9, Division 7 and is seeking your feedback on whether:

  • the policy objectives remain valid
  • the terms remain appropriate for securing these objectives.

The NSW Parliament passed the Roads and Crimes Legislation Amendment Act 2022 and updated section 144G of the Roads Act 1993.

This strengthened the rules for damaging or disruptive behaviour on the Sydney Harbour Bridge and other major bridges, tunnels and roads.

Updates were also made to the Roads Regulation 2018 to specify other major bridges, tunnels, and roads. Clause 48A of the Regulation lists the specified locations.

The Department of Communities and Justice, on behalf of the Attorney General will be reviewing updates to the Crimes Act 1900

Get more information on the Review of the Crimes Act 1900.
