Leanne Heywood
Leanne Heywood was the winner of the NSW Business Woman of the Year Award at the 2019 NSW Women of the Year Awards.
Leanne is an experienced Non-Executive Director and Senior Executive with broad general management experience gained through an international career in the mining, rural, government and not-for-profit sectors.
Leanne has excelled within the mining industry and has been described as an inspirational leader and colleague. Throughout her career she has refused to allow her gender to limit her, leading with focus, integrity and compassion. She has overcome the isolation of living in rural Australia to create an enviable international career and now uses her experience to empower other women to achieve their personal and professional goals.
She is a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee for Orocobre, a lithium miner with operations in Argentina. She is also a Director and Chair of the Nominations and Remuneration Committee for the Australian Meat Processor Corporation (AMPC) and a member of the NSW Council for Women’s Economic Opportunity. She is also a Senior Marketing Executive with Inenco, a large family-owned company supplying engineering products to industry.
She manages all this while commuting to Sydney from her sheep farm home in Central West NSW. Family is important to Leanne and she and her husband are extremely proud of their three wonderful adult children and partners who have built successful lives in country NSW. They also have two beautiful granddaughters.
