The NSW Government is taking a fresh approach to how it invests in regional NSW to make sure we can help meet the needs of all communities. This process is part of a new Regional Development Roadmap that includes the following key elements.

Regional Development Trust

The NSW Government has committed an initial $400 million into the Regional Development Trust for sustainable and strategic investment that makes a real difference to regional communities.

Regional Development Advisory Council

The Regional Development Advisory Council provides the Minister for Regional NSW with advice on regional investment and economic development, ensuring that the interests of rural and regional communities are at the centre of government decision making.

Modernising the Regional Development Act 2004

The Regional Development Act has been updated to reflect community feedback and to provide a stronger framework for regional economic development.

The modernised Act will ensure transparency and accountability to help deliver better outcomes in rural and regional communities.
