NSW has Australia’s lowest unemployment rate
The latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) show the NSW unemployment rate remains at 4.6 per cent, the lowest rate since April 2008.
NSW has added 188,100 full-time jobs since the last election, 75 per cent of all jobs in the state. In the rest of Australia, full-time jobs account for just 48 per cent of jobs in total.
The ABS data also showed NSW continues to have the lowest youth unemployment rate in the country and is the only state with a single digit youth unemployment rate.
Treasurer Dominic Perrottet said the result shows that NSW is the best place in the country to get a job, grow a business and build a career.
“Our investment in public infrastructure continues to grow the economy and create opportunities,” Mr Perrottet said.
