Nepean Hospital has a range of inpatient beds for people experiencing acute mental health issues, including a short-term emergency unit and specialised unit for older people.
About us
Nepean Hospital provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit and Older Persons Mental Health Unit.
They all provide 24-hour care by a skilled multidisciplinary team, including registered nurses.
Patients are supported with medication and can be linked with a case manager for longer term support. Care is provided in a least restrictive environment appropriate to the person's needs.
Admission can be voluntary, or involuntary under the NSW Mental Health Act.
Referral information
Admission can be through a hospital emergency department, through the Nepean Mental Health Triage and Assessment Centre, or by calling the Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511 at any time.
