What’s this about?

Demand for coal is expected to fall as the world moves to renewable energy. This will impact on jobs in communities that rely on the coal industry. The NSW Government is committed to supporting coal-reliant communities secure their economic future.

The Future Jobs and Investment Authorities (FJIA) will work with Government to help deliver investment in coal-reliant communities to support new jobs.

The FJIAs will be made up of people from local communities in the Hunter, Central West, Illawarra and North West regions of NSW. The FJIAs will provide advice to the Government on what local communities need and how the Government can help support creating new jobs in the region.
