What’s this about?

The Geographical Names Board (GNB) is seeking community feedback on a proposal by Willoughby City Council to name a Reserve in the locality of Chatswood as Jim McCredie Park.

The reserve is located off View Street, directly behind 27 View Lane, Chatswood. It is proposed to be named in commemoration of Jim McCredie, a long-time resident of Chatswood West, community advocate and the 2004 Willoughby Citizen of the Year.

Mr McCredie held several significant roles within the community, including 19 years as a delegate to the Federation of Willoughby Progress Association and time as the President of the Chatswood West Ward Progress Association. Mr McCredie passed away on 19 October 2023.
