The reserve is located off View Street, directly behind 27 View Lane, Chatswood. It is proposed to be named in commemoration of Jim McCredie, a long-time resident of Chatswood West, community advocate and the 2004 Willoughby Citizen of the Year.
Mr McCredie held several significant roles within the community, including 19 years as a delegate to the Federation of Willoughby Progress Association and time as the President of the Chatswood West Ward Progress Association. Mr McCredie passed away on 19 October 2023.
