Have your say on a place name in Snowy Monaro Regional LGA
The Geographical Names Board (GNB) is seeking community feedback on a proposal by Snowy Monaro Regional Council to name a reserve in the locality of Michelago as Clive Kelly Oval.
The reserve is located on Ryrie Street, Michelago, Snowy Monaro Regional Local Government Area
(LGA) and is unofficially known as Michelago Park.
The proposed name commemorates Clive Kelly (1913 – 2003) and acknowledges his contribution to
cricket in Michelago. Clive Kelly was a well-known local sportsman. His most notable achievement
was representing the ACT and Southern District teams, including opening the batting for the
Southern District team against a touring English team.
GNB is seeking feedback to gauge community sentiment for the proposed name. Suggestions for
alternative names is not being sought at this time.
Details of the proposal can be viewed and submissions lodged on the Geographical Names Board’s
website.
Alternatively, written submissions may be mailed to the Secretary, Geographical Names Board, 346
Panorama Ave, Bathurst, NSW 2795.
The closing date for submissions is 6 September 2024.
