Value NSW, part of the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, provides critical valuation, economic, and property advice and services to the Valuer General and the NSW Government.
We conduct land valuations on every parcel of land in NSW, delivering nearly 2.7 million valuations each year, with a combined value of over $2.8 trillion. These valuations are used by local councils to determine council rates and for Revenue NSW to assess land tax, generating more than $14 billion in revenue for the state.
In addition, we handle compensation determinations for compulsorily acquired land, asset and special valuations for government clients managing over $5 billion, and provide expert property and economic advice to the NSW Government.
Over the 24-month program, you’ll rotate across up to four teams within Value NSW, each for about six months. This gives you a broad range of training and hands-on experience, preparing you to deliver expert property and valuation advice that aligns with legislation, policy, and community needs. You'll work with teams that undertake land valuations, assess objections, and provide independent compensation assessments for compulsorily acquired land.
We have multiple temporary roles available with a flexible/hybrid working model. Location is negotiable, but Parramatta, Newcastle, Wollongong, and Queanbeyan are desirable. Other locations include Bathurst, Coffs Harbour, Orange and Murwillumbah.
