We want your input on the Central West Flood Recovery Housing Program following the 2022 floods.

The 2022 flood events were devastating to communities in the Central West region and those communities are still on the recovery journey.

The NSW Government has committed $40 million to design and implement a housing program for those who were impacted by the floods.

We would like you to share your experience of the floods and your ideas on what type of options you want to see included in the housing program.

A housing program could involve a range of options for eligible households, including raisings and retrofits to floodproof existing dwellings as well as buybacks and relocations.

The Australian and NSW governments have jointly funded the $100 million Central West Recovery and Resilience package, including $40 million for a housing program. The NSW Reconstruction Authority (RA) is leading and coordinating this Resilience package.

Community is at the centre of the recovery effort in the Central West. RA has commissioned technical data and flood modelling to develop region-wide flood mapping.

We acknowledge this is an incredibly difficult and stressful time for residents and the community and that talking about the flood could be distressing.

Privacy collection notice for Designing the Central West Recovery Housing Program

Have your say consultations are run by the NSW Department of Customer Service (McKell Building, 2-4 Rawson Place, Haymarket NSW 2000).

We are interested in hearing from the community and will use the information we collect from you to help develop the programs and services that NSW Government provides, in particular <description of programs and services that will be developed from this consultation>.

You may provide some personal information <<and health information>in response to questions that we ask you. For example, we may ask you about your experiences or opinions about a particular topic.

We may share personal information you provide with other parts of the Department of Customer Service (for example, with our Data Analytics Centre) so that we can conduct analysis across all consultations and refine our engagement methodology. The personal information will be stored on the DAC’s secure platform, in compliance with NSW Cyber Security Policy, which is hosted in a secure commercial cloud data centre in Australia. The DAC will deidentify the personal information and use this deidentified data for analytical and reporting purposes.

Access to personal information within the DAC’s secure platform is restricted to approved users and managed by the Data Governance team. An approved user’s data-related activities can be tracked on the platform.
